What the service may include

The right approach for your layout and structure.

Not every wall needs to come out completely. We look at what the wall carries and what you want from the space, then recommend the option that delivers it safely.

Full wall removal

Remove the entire wall to connect the kitchen, dining and living areas in one open layout.

Partial removal

Open part of the wall to improve flow and sightlines while keeping defined zones.

Pass-throughs and openings

Add a wide opening between rooms, ideal for kitchens that feel closed off.

Beam installation

Engineered LVL, steel or flush beams installed to transfer loads safely.

Columns and posts

Strategic supports where a full clear span isn't practical, common in older homes and long spans.

Engineering and drawings

Structural assessment, load design and stamped drawings where required for your permit.

Questions

Wall removal questions

How do I know if a wall is load-bearing?

It can't be confirmed from appearance alone. We assess the structure above and below the wall as part of the scope review.

Do I need a permit?

Removing a load-bearing wall generally requires a building permit and engineered drawings. We prepare the drawings and submission support your project needs; approval rests with the municipality.

Can the beam be hidden in the ceiling?

Often a flush beam can sit within the ceiling line, depending on joist depth and loads. We confirm the options during design.

What happens to wiring or ducts in the wall?

They're rerouted as part of the work. We identify them early so the plan and estimate include it.
